Massoni | 5- Crisis of Democracy
Chapter 5: Imagination in power, a Freemason on the Moon, and the crisis of democracy (1968–1975)
Where it tells of the battles for civil rights and the assassinations of M.L. King and R.F. Kennedy, the 1968 US presidential elections, the “Three Eyes” super lodge, and the ongoing behind-the-scenes struggle between conservative and progressive Ur-Lodges.
The 1968 American Elections
The 1968 U.S. presidential elections were one of the most turbulent and pivotal in modern history, with stakes that affected global governance as well. Conservative, reactionary, and neo-aristocratic Masonic circuits aimed not merely at choosing a winner but at preventing certain candidates from ascending to the White House, or even surviving politically during this critical year. The newly formed powerful “Ur-Lodge” (Super-Lodge) called “Three Eyes” (founded unofficially in 1967 and officially in 1968), consisting of Masonic oligarchs, was designed to strategize against the growing leftist and civil rights movements.
-
Lyndon B. Johnson: Progressive Mason, trapped between opposing Ur-Lodges.
-
Henry Kissinger: Mason, founder of the “Three Eyes” Ur-Lodge.
-
Richard Nixon: Paramason (a quasi-mason, not formally initiated), backed by oligarchic Masonic powers.
-
Eugene McCarthy: Outsider pacifist senator, Democratic Party.
-
Robert F. Kennedy (RFK): Non-Mason initially, later sought legitimate initiation in Freemasonry.
-
Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK): Mason affiliated with the Ur-Lodge “Hiram Rhodes Revels”.
A President in the Grip of Ur-Lodges
President Lyndon Johnson found himself increasingly besieged by powerful conservative Masonic forces, especially those connected to the military-industrial complex. When Johnson intended to end the Vietnam War, these groups orchestrated the 1968 Tet Offensive to undermine him politically and psychologically. Johnson sought support from the progressive Ur-Lodge “Janus” and others but was rejected by leading progressive Ur-Lodges such as “Thomas Paine”, “Christopher Columbus”, “Ioannes”, “Montesquieu”, “Fraternité Verte”, “Hiram Rhodes Revels”, “Newton-Keynes”, “Benjamin Franklin”, and “Carroll of Carrollton” for his past compromises.
A Masonic Shield for Martin Luther King?
An institution within Freemasonry called the “initiatic shield” provided formal protection from harm among Masons through a binding affidavit, signed by at least 19 Masters Worshipful of significant lodges. Martin Luther King accepted this initiatic shield for protection, recognizing his role as a global symbol for civil rights, non-violence, and equality. Despite this, King was assassinated on April 4, 1968. The conservative-Masonic “Three Eyes” Ur-Lodge denied responsibility but condemned racially motivated conspiracies instead.
The Masonic Aspirations of Robert Kennedy
Robert Kennedy needed to be initiated as a Mason to gain the initiatic shield. He refused a rushed, “sword-edge” initiation and desired a full formal rite with spiritual preparation by the Catholic-oriented Ur-Lodge “Carroll of Carrollton”. He deliberately postponed initiation until November 21, 1968, after the elections. Kennedy also rejected extraordinary security measures proposed by progressive Masons from Ur-Lodge “Thomas Paine” to maintain an image of courage and accessibility. He was assassinated on June 6, 1968, without the protection of the initiatic shield.
Masonic Reactions to the Kings and Kennedys Murders
While some Masons called for fierce retaliation against suspected conspirators, others urged restraint and adherence to formal rules barring vengeance without irrefutable proof. Overall, the assassinations cleared the path for the conservative Masonic oligarchs to control the political scene, notably the 1968 election, which favored Richard Nixon (backed by conservative lodges like “Three Eyes,” “Geburah,” “Compass Star-Rose,” etc.). Progressive Masons supported RFK and MLK’s progressive agendas but suffered a severe setback.
The Masonic Inspiration in Martin Luther King’s Speeches
King’s rhetoric was deeply influenced by progressive Masonic ideals, emphasizing universal human rights, nonviolence inspired by Gandhi, and fraternity across race, religion, and class. He was initiated into Ur-Lodge “Hiram Rhodes Revels” in 1957 and visited Gandhi’s family in India in 1959, indicating profound influence. His iconic 1963 speech referenced foundational American documents inspired by Masonic principles. King also wrote a courageous 1967 letter denouncing antisemitism, aligning with his Masonic progressivism.
Bayard Rustin, another African-American Mason from “Hiram Rhodes Revels”, was an important civil rights activist and early advocate for LGBTQ rights.
Nixon’s Victory and The “Three Eyes” Ascendancy
Richard Nixon’s presidency (starting January 20, 1969) marked the triumph of the conservative “Three Eyes” Ur-Lodge, which controlled U.S. governance and manipulated protest movements for oligarchic ends. Had RFK lived and governed (1969-1977), the progressive Masonic vision might have reformed Western and global societies toward expansive democracy and social justice, presumably preventing the neoliberal conservatism embodied later by Thatcher and Reagan.
The “Three Eyes” and Their Members (1967–1975)
The superlodge “Three Eyes” counted among its members and founders many prominent figures from banking, politics, and industry, including:
-
David Rockefeller (American banker, Bilderberg founder).
-
Nelson Rockefeller (Vice President of the USA).
-
Henry Kissinger (politician, political scientist).
-
Giovanni Agnelli (Italian industrialist, Freemason, paramasonic associations).
-
Georges Pompidou (President of France).
-
Zbigniew Brzezinski (political scientist, founder of Ur-Lodge “Lux ad Orientem”).
-
Michel Crozier (sociologist).
-
Robert Nisbet (philosopher, member of “Edmund Burke” Ur-Lodge).
-
Robert Nozick (philosopher, “Edmund Burke”).
-
Milton Friedman (economist, “Edmund Burke”, “White Eagle”).
-
Paul Volcker (Federal Reserve Chairman).
-
Henry Ford II (American industrialist).
-
James Jesus Angleton (CIA counterintelligence chief, “Geburah”, “Compass Star-Rose”).
-
Walter Mondale (Vice President under Carter).
-
Richard Helms (CIA Director).
-
Paul Casimir Marcinkus (Archbishop, Vatican bank head).
-
Zhou Enlai and Deng Xiaoping (Chinese Communist leaders affiliated as per “Three Eyes”).
-
Akio Morita and Masaru Ibuka (Sony founders).
-
George H. W. Bush (U.S. President and CIA Director).
-
Richard Cheney (Vice President in 2000s, founder of “Hathor Pentalpha”).
-
Others spanning politics, intelligence, economics, and industry.
Many of these also held membership in other Ur-Lodges of the conservative/neo-aristocratic network, including “Geburah”, “Compass Star-Rose”, “Edmund Burke”, “Joseph de Maistre”, “Leviathan”, “Pan-Europa”, “Der Ring”, “Valhalla”, “Parsifal”, “White Eagle”, and “Hathor Pentalpha”.
Triumph and Methods of the “Three Eyes”
Not all members agreed with the harsh decisions taken by this oligarchic Masonic block, but most contributed to eroding progressive democracy internally over decades. With Nixon’s presidency, they handled the slow end to the Vietnam War, profiting from military contracts until the U.S. withdrawal formalized in 1973 and the fall of Saigon in 1975.
The progressive Masonic bloc, including “Thomas Paine”, “Christopher Columbus”, “Ioannes”, “Montesquieu”, “Daath”, “Simón Bolívar”, “Ghedullah”, “Fraternité Verte”, “Hiram Rhodes Revels”, “Newton-Keynes”, “Benjamin Franklin”, “Carroll of Carrollton”, had plans for a peaceful resolution of the Vietnam war earlier than what actually occurred, aiming for a democratic republic in South Vietnam.
Freemasonry’s Penetration into China
From 1971, under Nixon and Kissinger, the “Three Eyes” began affiliating top Chinese Communist leaders like Zhou Enlai (1971) and Deng Xiaoping (1973). This was part of a broader Masonic strategy to facilitate China’s entrance into international institutions (e.g., UN replacement of Taiwan) and economic integration, orchestrated behind closed Masonic doors.
The Founding of the Trilateral Commission (1973)
On June 23, 1973, the “Three Eyes” established the Trilateral Commission, symbolically one day before the Masonic feast of St. John the Baptist (June 24), and the anniversary of the founding of the Grand Lodge of London (1717). It served openly as a paramasonic and policy network linking North America, Europe, and Japan, ostensibly to foster cooperation among the leading industrial regions but in reality, to reshape democracy toward elitist, hierarchical, oligarchic governance, as revealed in their landmark 1975 study The Crisis of Democracy.
Key authors and high-ranking Trilateral members were also “Three Eyes” lodge affiliated Masons:
-
Michel Crozier
-
Samuel P. Huntington
-
Joji Watanuki
-
Zbigniew Brzezinski (Commission director in 1975)
-
Robert R. Bowie
-
James Cornford
-
Gerard C. Smith
-
Tadashi Yamamoto
And others.
Neil Armstrong: A Freemason on the Moon
Despite the regressive political shift, scientific progress achieved a symbolic triumph with the Apollo 11 Moon landing on July 21, 1969, led by Neil Armstrong, a Mason affiliated with both “Three Eyes” (from 1968) and earlier with “Janus”, another influential US super Ur-Lodge associated with the Johnson administration.
